Operation Vets With Nets is thrilled to announce our 3rd Annual Hooked on Heroes Veterans Event—and we want YOU to be part of this unforgettable weekend!

Hooked on Heroes 2026 is more than a friendly fishing tournament — it’s a mission-driven event created to honor, support, and connect our nation’s Veterans through the healing power of the outdoors.

Start the festivities early with our Meet & Greet:

Connect with fellow participants, captains, and volunteers before the big day!

Fishing Day:
🗓️ Saturday, November 7, 2026
⏰ Fishing from 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM
📍  Occoneechee State Park -  1192 Occoneechee Park Rd, Clarksville, VA
Meet up is at 5:30 AM sharp for boat assignments and a safety briefing! Each Veteran or Active Duty Service Member will be paired with a seasoned captain for an epic day of catfishing on Kerr Reservoir (AKA Buggs Island) . After a full day on the water, we’ll gather at the pavilion for a well-deserved meal, camaraderie, and celebration. This event is 100% FREE for Veterans and Active Duty Service Members! 

But that’s not all—stick around after fishing for:

* Socializing with fellow heroes

* Exciting prize giveaways

* Fun activities and more!

Fishing has long been known to provide therapeutic benefits — reducing stress, improving mental wellness, and fostering meaningful connection.
Hooked on Heroes creates a space where Veterans can step away from daily pressures, reconnect with fellow service members, and build new relationships in a supportive, welcoming environment.

What Veterans Can Expect:

A fully supported fishing experience on beautiful Kerr Reservoir, Pairing with experienced boat captains and volunteers.

Camaraderie with fellow Veterans from across the region

Meals, fellowship, and a community that understands service
